When is a good time for a newborn session?

Congratulations! Your bundle of joy has arrived. Everyone wants a pick. What is the best time to take these precious images? Do you wait till the baby is older, maybe 1 or 2 months old? Less sleepy? No bruises or pimples?

The best time to photograph a newborn is within the first 2 weeks. The baby is super sleepy which is best for the session. We don't want the baby to be awake and fussy. A sleepy well fed baby will allow a smooth and easy session for the mom and the photographer.

A typical session is anywhere between 2-3 hours. We need to stop frequently to change your baby's diaper, allow feeding, change of clothes, etc. It is never done properly within an hour. We have to be patient. Your baby will set the pace.

The first few weeks of having a newborn are exhausting. But these first few days are a momentary magic. Lets capture it! Visit me at www.irisgiladiphotography.com to view my work and book a session.
