My photography style

I am a Bay Area family photographer who specializes in Lifestyle photography. Lifestyle photography is somewhere in between portrait photography and documentary. Lifestyle is more about capturing a moment. It's about photographing emotions and connection. But the photographer doesn't just leave it up to the family to know exactly what to do, they will provide gentile direction. I do not have a studio. I shoot all my sessions outdoors or at the client's home.

Even when I pose my clients, the images captured seem very candid. I encourage my clients to move around. Movement plays a big part in lifestyle photography. A lot of times the prompts we use incorporate a lot of movement, because it looks beautiful on camera and provides something a bit different. Another benefit to keeping our subjects moving is that it gives them something to do and helps them to feel more comfortable.

Lifestyle photographers encourage their clients to look at each other and show affection to each other. Little things like touching your partner’s arm, kissing, and keeping your body relaxed are all things that appear like natural movements on the camera. The result will have the effect of intimate and candid family moments. This is very different from the traditional photos of everyone looking at the camera.
